Relaxation massage is slow, flowing and soothing, designed to help the body soften, the mind quieten and the nervous system settle. It is ideal when you are feeling stressed, tired, emotionally depleted or in need of deep rest.
Deep tissue massage uses firmer pressure and more targeted techniques to work into areas of chronic tension, muscular tightness and postural holding. It is better suited to those looking for more focused physical release, recovery or support with specific areas of discomfort.

If stress is sitting in your head, jaw, neck and shoulders, Indian Head Massage is often a wonderful place to start.
And if you would like support choosing the most suitable treatment, we are always happy to guide you.
-
Your treatment begins with a short consultation so we can understand how you are feeling, what your body is holding, and what you would most like support with. From there, your massage is tailored to you on the day.
You will be invited to settle onto the treatment couch, where you will be covered comfortably with towels or sheets throughout. Depending on the treatment you choose, your session may involve slow flowing massage, deeper therapeutic work, assisted stretching, pressure point techniques or focused attention on particular areas of tension.
At The Hidden Sanctuary, massage is never one size fits all. Each treatment is shaped around what your body needs, with the intention of helping you release tension, restore balance and leave feeling lighter, calmer and more at ease.
-
Yes, reflexology can be a deeply supportive treatment if you are feeling anxious, overstimulated or emotionally overwhelmed. This gentle, non-invasive foot treatment is designed to calm the nervous system, encourage whole-body balance and create space for deep rest.
Many people find it especially helpful when they feel tired but wired, mentally busy or unable to properly switch off.
-
Please wear whatever feels most comfortable to you. There is no need to wear anything special.
For full body massage treatments, you will be given privacy to undress to your level of comfort and will be covered throughout with towels or sheets, with only the area being worked on exposed at any one time.
If you are visiting for a more focused treatment, such as sports massage or assisted stretching, comfortable loose clothing can sometimes be helpful. If anything specific is needed for your appointment, we will always let you know in advance.
The most important thing is that you feel relaxed, comfortable and at ease.
-
After your treatment, we recommend giving yourself a little time to slow down and let the body absorb the work. Drinking plenty of water can be helpful, especially after massage, to support hydration and encourage a sense of ease through the tissues.
If possible, try to keep the rest of your day gentle. Warmth, nourishing food, rest and an early night can all help your body settle and integrate the treatment more fully.
Some people feel deeply relaxed afterwards, while others may notice they are a little more tired than usual. This is completely normal. Listening to your body, moving gently and allowing space to rest can make all the difference.
